A New Chapter and a gift
I recently communicated with a beautiful crimson-bellied parakeet who had unexpectedly crossed over the rainbow bridge just a few days earlier. Her human, Jodi, was devastated and overcome with grief.
Jodi wanted to understand what happened and why Ruby exited her body so quickly at such a young age. When we asked Ruby, she said she was in Jodi’s life to help her on a journey of self-discovery and to help her step into her authenticity and feel free to be herself. Ruby explained that she did what she needed to do, and now Jodi needs more freedom to travel and not be restricted in where she goes to continue her growth. I have heard this from quite a few pets who exit unexpectedly. The animals understand what our human selves need on a soul level to expand, even though our human egos may not understand or like it.

Ruby, in her earthly body, was a tiny 78-gram beautiful parakeet (an Angel in feathers), comfortable in her large and powerful energetic body. She knew how to take up space and spread joy, and she taught Jodi how to do that for herself by literally showing her.
Ruby demanded that humans pay attention to her during her time on earth. She had something to express and often used human verbal language to say it. She would persistently interrupt, saying hi to all the humans she came in contact with until the human said hello back. Ruby even insisted that the humans on the other end of the phone conversations Jodi was having acknowledge her.
Ruby knew the power she had to help humans through her energy (like all pets). The unconditional love she carried within her would help the human she connected with just by being around Ruby.
Another phrase Ruby said often was, “give me kisses”. Ruby said she especially liked saying that because she knew Jodi needed kisses from her, and it made Ruby so happy when Jodi kissed her, too.
Ruby communicated that she will be “back” to walk/fly alongside Jodi again when the time is right. In the meantime, she will be going places with Jodi wherever Jodi needs some extra support. And Jodi is learning to use her intuition to connect with Ruby in a new way that brings her comfort and expands Jodi’s trust in herself and her intuition.
